Evergreen Fire April In House Critical Medicine Patients June 16, 23 & July 7 & 17, 2025
This course will cover methods to rapid temporization and stabilization of critical medical patients prior to movement. Bring patients back to a relative hemodynamic and oxygenation/ventilation stability, and organize movement towards transport. It will discuss the use closed-loop communication with all team members. Practice positioning; oxygenation; ventilation; fluid bolus; push-dose/ epi drip; pacing; and cardioversion. Finish with the latest science on defibrillation.
Target Audience
Evergreen Fire Paramedics
Learning Objectives
Objective 1: By the end of this training, the participant will be able to describe the physiology of a critical medical patient and the latest studies showing SCA when moving patients without a temporizing stabilization.
Objective 2: By the end of this training, the participant will be proficient at using closed-loop communication with each team member.
Objective 4: By the end of this training, the participant will be proficient at positioning and oxygenating/ventilating the critical medical patient.
Objective 5: By the end of this training, the participant will be able to assist in setting up, or setup (depending on certification level), fluids; epi; pacing and cardioversion. The paramedic will recognize the need for and be able to implement and then evaluate the effectiveness of each treatment.
Objective 6: By the end of this training, the participant will be able to manage the organization of all equipment prior to moving the patient, and set stop- points to reevaluate the patient’s status, using closed loop-feedback
