This is a skills session which included the following Stop the Bleed Scenarios, trauma assessment skills-adding DCAP-BTLS to assessment, detailed physical exam, shock due to trauma, mild allergic reaction, PID, organophosphate poisoning, sick anaphylaxis

Learning Objectives

1. Demonstrate the emergency medical care of the patient with external bleeding. (p 947, Skill Drill 26-1)

2. Demonstrate the emergency medical care of the patient with external bleeding using wound packing. (p 948, Skill Drill 26-2)

3. Demonstrate the emergency medical care of the patient with external bleeding using a commercial tourniquet. (p 950, Skill Drill 26-3)

4. Demonstrate the emergency medical care of the patient with epistaxis, or nosebleed. (p 953, Skill Drill 26-4)

5. Demonstrate the emergency medical care of the patient who shows signs and symptoms of internal bleeding. (pp 955–956, Skill Drill 26-5)

6. Demonstrate how to assess and treat a patient with a suspected poisoning. (pp 830–833)

7. Demonstrate how to assess and treat a patient with a suspected overdose. (pp 831–833)
