This course has three parts. The first part will discuss Scope of practice and legal issues that EMS providers need to be aware of and abide by. The second part will discuss OB Field delivery and care of the newly born infant which will include part lecture and part skills based. The third part will discuss and demonstrate agency kit and equipment familiarization with testing.

This is dynamic skills Cadaver lab. The lab will cover anatomy in the airway, chest, abdomen and extremities. The course will discuss the appropriate placement of endotracheal tubes and other airway devices how to identify landmarks and technique and how to identify misplacement. How to appropriately use a video laryngoscope and correctly identify landmarks. The course will discuss cricothyrotomy, with identifying landmarks and technique.

Overview of oxygenation and ventilation physiology, including positioning, PEEP, pre- and apneic-oxygenation, two-thumbs down BVM, and negative pressure vs. PPV and the dangers of transitioning, followed by hands-on of all of the above plus suctioning, adjuncts, IGel and SALAD VL, specifically the Glidescope VL.
