Rescue Materials for the Via Ferrata
This course reviewed the resources available to rescuers within the BLS scope of practice to stabilize a patient having an acute medical or traumatic emergency on the Via Ferrata at Arapahoe Basin. Discussed methods and tools available for oxygen delivery, C-spine stabilization, cardiac chest pain, asthma, anaphylaxis, hypoglycemia, epistaxis, nausea, pain management and inflammation due to orthopedic injury, wound cleaning, hemorrhage control, hypothermia and CPR. Furthermore, discussed proper communication for these emergencies, timelines and gear caches for other rescue equipment.
