Spinal Trauma Considerations and SMR

Reviewed Denver Metro Protocols 8050 and 8055 for spinal trauma and immobilization and spinal trauma with athletic equipment. Participants will review the DMP, complete a scenario with patient who has midline spinal tenderness and/or neurological deficits. with a distracting injury. Review and apply the use of spinal motion restriction (SMR) considerations with proper equipment (vacuum mat or scoop and/or c-collar). Participants will work together to immobilize and move patients with suspected spinal trauma. Review mechanism of injury for spinal considerations and CSM (circulation, sensation, motor function).
