Overview of oxygenation and ventilation physiology, including positioning, PEEP, pre- and apneic-oxygenation, two-thumbs down BVM, and negative pressure vs. PPV and the dangers of transitioning, followed by hands-on of all of the above plus suctioning, adjuncts, IGel and SALAD VL. Finish with OG Tubes.

Learning Objectives

Objective 1: By the end of this training, the participant will be able to describe the effect PPV can have on hemodynamics, and proper management of the basic airway to preclude hypotension and desaturation.
Objective 2: By the end of this training, the participant will be able to balance managing the suctioning of a soiled airway with adequate ventilation.
Objective 3: By the end of this training, the participant will be able to perform the management t of an soiled airway using suction and iGel and/or video laryngoscopy and OG Tube, based on their certification level.
