Highland-Genesee Foothills shock/elderly trauma patient/Back country rescue/ /trauma skills training June 2025 Training
This course will discuss several areas including shock both medical and trauma, elderly trauma patient, back country rescue and extended care protocols. It will use group table top exercise with a short presentation and also practice trauma skills incluiding wound packing, tourniquets, pelvic binders, chest needle decompression and occlusive dressings

Be able to describe the extended care protocols
Be able to demonstrate how to place a pelvic binder and tourniquet
Be able to describe things to be aware of in the elderly trauma patient
Be able to name the steps to using TXA
Be able to demonstrate how to do chest needle decompression and wound packing.
