Managing difficult airways, Foothills Fire-Genesee Fire and Highland Rescue Oct 12, 2026
This training session will discuss how to manage difficult airways on respiratory patients. This will include BLS techniques including proper ventilation, mask seals inserting airway adjuncts and using subglottic airways. It will then address ALS airways including intubation using CPAP, the SALAD technique with intubation and cricothyrotomy. there will then be a skills session to practice both BLS and ALS techniques

2) Demonstrate proper technique for mask seal including 1 person and two person
3) Demonstrate steps to properly placing a subglottic airway
4) Demonstrate how to intubate
5) Name what a SALAD technique is when intubating and demonstrate how to perform it.
