ACLS - August - Longmont United - Longmont
August 16-17 from 8AM-5PM
This 2-day format is intended for individuals who do not have an AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or have expired. Students must attend both days. This class will be conducted in-person. Masks are mandatory.
The Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) course is designed for healthcare providers who conduct or participate in resuscitation of patients in a hospital, PreHospital, medical offices, or in settings where conscious sedation is administered.
It covers identification and treatment of patients with medical conditions who are at risk for cardiac arrest. Primary and secondary assessment survey and actions needed, algorithms for treatment of emergency situations, and effective resuscitation team dynamics. Arrhythmia recognition is reviewed but it is expected that the student will have a working knowledge of EKG rhythms.
Students must have the required textbook, take the ACLS pretest with a passing score of at least 86%, and submit the pretest to the instructor before the class begins.
A passing score on the final written exam and demonstration of the course material via skills checks are required to obtain the AHA Ecard.
