Airway Management for BLS Provider
Using Denver Metro Protocols and intubation manikin, discuss and demonstrate the use of OPA, NPA and i-gel supraglottic airways as well as BVM, colormetric capnography and oxygen flow rates. Anatomy and physiology of pharanyx and lungs. Pediatric considerations discussed. Demonstration of intubation by ALS provider and familiarization with ALS airway kit so a BLS provider can assist ALS providers if necessary. Familiarization with Lifepak15 monitor and in-line capnography.
