This course has three parts. The first part will discuss Scope of practice and legal issues that EMS providers need to be aware of and abide by. The second part of the course will go over scene safety and helicopter safety with Flight For Life then the third part will go over pt assessment, what to when you are first on scene, how to give a hand off report to ALS providers, & medications within your scope of practice for BLS providers

Objectives:
1. Be able to name what is in the scope of practice according to Denver Metro Protocols for BLS providers
2. Be able to demonstrate how to perform a basic medical assessment
3. Be able to demonstrate how to perform a basic trauma assessment
4. Be able to describe what to look for and do to assure the scene is safe
5. Be able to demonstrate how to give a hand off report to ALS once they arrive on scene
6.Be able to demonstrate what to do when you are first on scene
