Volunteer Basic Life Support focused Quarterly EMS training. This course will educate the BLS provider in BLS skills and knowledge on patient trauma assessment. This course will focus on BLS skills including, Hare Traction Splint, Spinal immobilization, Cardiac arrest management, use of Lucas device, How to prepare and assist placing CPAP device & Managing a BLS scene prior to ALS arrival

Learning Objectives
OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this training the participant with be able to:
- Be able to name the steps in initial patient assessment for trauma including how to evaluate for Airway, Breathing and Circulation.
- Identify the correct steps in assisting with setting up and placing a CPAP device
- Be able to demonstrate appropriate steps in placing a Lucas Device
- Be able to demonstrate how to place a Hare traction Splint
- Be able to demonstrate how to immobilize a patient using backboard or Scoop.
