Getting the Right Care
Dr. Hackett is a complex knee and shoulder surgeon with The Steadman Clinic and a US Ski Team physician for world class ski athletes. Dr. Hackett spoke about patient advocacy, the trauma system and in-hospital care options and follow-up for patient types we (ski patrol/EMS) are likely to encounter. This lecture revolved around case studies of orthopedic injuries and included x-ray images, CT scans, post-operative reports, recovery stories and back-to-sport progression. This lecture informed prehospital providers on the importance of “the right” in-hospital consultation and how to advocate for our patients.
