Helicopter Safety and Loading a Patient - summer operations
The Centura-based helicopter crew from Lifeguard 2 spoke to the first responder staff about general helicopter safety, how to create a safe LZ and the abilities they have on board for patient care. The crew reviewed the addition of the LUCAS device which can be requested for the transport of a viable patient in cardiac arrest, or anticipated cardiac arrest. Discussed patient demographic needing helicopter transport, inclement weather options (Terra 2 ambulance) and whole blood delivery.
