High Performance CPR
This lecture is given introducing the Pit Crew style of CPR response and the 4 BLS roles in pulseless and apneic resuscitation. Information was provided in lecture format which included but was not limited to: Review of Stop the Bleed, specific adjuncts to treat bleeding depending on location and 3 devices were reviewed with when/where and how to perform the skill. Video description and demonstrations shown. Devices discussed and practiced were tourniquet, chest seal and wound packing with hemostatic gauze. Discussed single rescuer BLS CPR 30:2. Review of AED and its use in pit crew style response including AED functional capability, pad placement, how to analyze rhythm and timekeeping. Review of LUCAS device (mechanical CPR) and its use in this style response including proper application of the device and its different modes. Review for "airway responder." Initial steps in airway management, suction, placement of adjuncts, passive oxygenation, assembly of BVM with PEEP and ETCO2 monitoring. Introduction of the IV/IO responder for IV certified providers. Identifying ACLS medications for ALS providers.
