Highland Rescue Annual Foothills/I-70 Area EMS Trauma Skills Field Day
DESCRIPTION:
A full-day event of hands-on EMS skills, scenarios and small-group problem solving with Emergency Physicians and Paramedic instructors leading small-group skills stations in airway, trauma, cardiac, medical, neonatal resuscitation, ALS and BLS airway, Pediatrics, obstetrics, and cardiac arrest scenarios.
The afternoon will consist of Sills stations that are more in depth training including the following MCI Operations, Trauma Skills, Pediatric and a airway and heart dissection lab.

Learning Objectives
OBJECTIVES:
1. Be able to demonstrate basic and advanced airway management techniques
2. Be able to demonstrate a trauma patient assessment, hemorrhage control, spinal motion restriction, and shock management.
3. Participants will understand key elements of physician-led topics on shock management, crush injuries and pain management.
4. Participants will understand and perform key aspects and roles of rescue and MCI operations .
5. Be able to name the steps in neonatal resuscitation
6. Be able to name the steps in emergency childbirth and how to handle complications.
7. Be able to describe the basic anatomy of the heart and lungs
8. Be able to describe the importance using PEEP during ventilation.
9. Be able to demonstrate differences in treating pediatric patients.
