Lower Extremity Trauma
Review Denver Metro Protocol 8080 "Extremity Trauma" and discuss appropriate exposure to injured extremity given winter climate. Review the algorithms for Fracture/Dislocation and Amputation. Review and hands-on practice with Circulation/Movement/Sensation (CMS) as a vital sign important in extremity trauma. Review use and instructions of Kendrick Traction Device for mid-shaft femur fracture. Hands-on practice of application of KTD and a "quick splint."
