Opiate Review-Webinar 2023-WBT
This session will cover the normal pharmokientics of one of the most common and insidious overdoses to plague our nation in the past 10 year; the narcotic overdose. Dr. Bronsky will review the how opiates work, why they are so addictive and then the normal treatment strategies we have at our disposal to included Narcan administration. Lastly Stein will introduce you to a relative newcomer to the opiate scene, Xylazine (“Tranq”; another crossover from the Veterinarian world as a sedative and pain reliever for horses and cattle), and what to do when Narcan is not effective.
