Verbal De-escalation for Patients in Crisis
Presentation on de-escalation such as therapeutic verbal and nonverbal communication, self-regulation, and safety maintenance techniques. Discussed when a person could experience such events that would need deployment of these techniques such as mental health emergencies, traumatic brain injury, and aggressive individuals or persons under duress. Discussed differences between adult and pediatric patients, and different approaches for managing them including STAMP vs MOAS protocols.
