This is Required Training For Prehospital Whole Blood Administration. This portion is diadactic portion with an over view of the process as well as equipment led by medical Director Dr. Scott Branney

Objectives
1. Participant will be able to describe the how to recognize when a whole blood unit is not able to be used due to blood clots as well as potential bacterial contamination and what those signs include
2. Be able to name what criteria are needed for the patient to receive whole blood.
3. Be able to name signs and symptoms of when a patient make be experiencing a blood blood reaction
4. Be able to name the basic information needed to be documented from a unit of whole prior to administration
5. Be able to name the correct size of angiocath and IV/Io site needed when administering whole blood
6. Be able to name the specific equipment needed when administering a unit of whole blood
7. Be able to name the procedure should a patient refuse whole blood due to religious or personal reasons.
