Welcome to the Wilz Trauma Symposium 2026! Below is listed all of the classes which will be provided. 

  1. Pediatric Trauma Objectives:
    1. Describe key anatomic and physiologic differences between pediatric and adult patients and explain how these variations influence assessment and management strategies.
    2. Identify and apply standard techniques for performing a comprehensive pediatric assessment, including age appropriate communication and vital sign interpretation.
    3. Describe initial steps of pediatric trauma resuscitation to include assessment, airway management and fluid/blood administration.

 

  1. Trauma Case Review Objectives:
    1. Discuss multidisciplinary involvement in the care of a trauma patient.
    2. Review trauma specific assessment and initial interventions. \
    3. Review management of multisystem trauma pt to include importance of early hemorrhage control and blood transfusion. 

 

  1. Whole Blood Presentation Objectives:
  • Understand key clinical concepts pertinent to LTOWB
  • Describe why whole blood belongs in hospital and prehospital settings
  • Explain the theoretical benefit to using whole blood in rural trauma
  • Understand implications for special populations
  1. PreHospital and ED Fracture Care Objectives:

 

Prehospital

  • Assessment, stabilization, understanding the transition to ED care
  • Hemorrhage control
  • NV checks
  • Proper splinting

ED 

  • Reassessment
  • Imaging
  • Fracture management 

 

  1. Interactive Trauma Education
  • Knowledge check
  • Stimulate audience to engage and communicate with each other to select best options
  • Trauma terminology review
  1. Burn Care Objectives:
  • Identify candidates for transfer to the burn center
  • Recognize burn depth and associated degree
  • Verbalize pre-hospital fluid management and acute care
