Mine rescue teams respond to emergencies underground with the goal of finding and safely extricating trapped or injured miners and restoringairflow to the mine. Depending on the mine and the emergency, teams will use rope rescue, firefighting, first aid, and underground navigational skills.This session introduces mine rescue teams, discusses integration of mine rescue teams with SAR responses, and presents rebreathers and gas monitors used in underground rescue.
