This is dynamic skills Cadaver lab. The lab will cover anatomy in the airway, chest, abdomen and extremities. The course will discuss the appropriate placement of endotracheal tubes and other airway devices how to identify landmarks and technique and how to identify misplacement. How to appropriately use a video laryngoscope and correctly identify landmarks. The course will discuss cricothyrotomy, with identifying landmarks and technique.

This is a skills training and check off this course will discuss the BLS management of both Trauma patients and Medical patients. the course will focus performing trauma and medical assessments. Identifying & ways control external and internal bleeding with placing tourniquets and pelvic binders. It will focus on Medical assessments and how to administer BLS medications with consideration to indications and contraindications. This course will discuss IV administration for IV certified BLS providers.

This course will include a dynamic Case review by Cardiologist Regina Lee on a very unusual  patient presentation, how the patient progressed during transport and what the patient outcome was. Additionally ,this course will discuss the newest illicit drugs that EMS needs to be aware of when encountering patients. What the pathophysiology of the these illicit substances and how to treat them. There will also be a discussion toxidromes, signs and symptoms and how to treat Patients with these conditions.

This course will discuss Left Ventricular Assist devices LVADs and the EMS provider. It will review what patients are candidates for LVADs, What EMS providers need to be aware of if they should run on a patient who has and LVAD. It will discuss how to asses these patients especially what to look for with blood pressure. the course will review the Denver Metro Protocol regarding LVAD patients. It will describe steps on how to contact the LVAD coordinator. The course will end with review various EMS topics, protocols and procedures.
